- I am a registered nurse & midwife. I've delivered hundreds of babies & I spent 10 years working as a midwife on a SCBU in the ITU. I also have a diploma in cancer care. I had been accepted to do the degree when I was struck down with Lupus / Chronic lung (associated with the Auto-immune condition where all infection attacks my lungs)/ Arthritis (mainly in my spine, neck, knees, hips and now my hands). I almost died twice last year & having come face to face with my own mortality my mantra is "To use each day to the fullest I can as if it's my last", and to value those who do care rather than to worrying about those who don't.
